The Banjo Lesson

The Banjo Lesson is a work by world-famous American artist Mary Cassatt (1844 - 1926). It's one sketch and study etching, drypoint and aquatint on cream wove paper created in 1893. The painting is owned by the museum of Library of Congress, and is accessible to the general public. Mary Cassattis a female artist, an unusual sight among the men painters of her day. Mary Cassatt was influenced by Impressionism, and made most paintings about figure and tableau and portrait.
